Ed Tullett - Thaw
What do you do when a complete stranger asks you to listen to his music? Yeah, that’s right, you ignore that person 99% of the time. But damnit, I’m very happy I took my time to listen to Ed Tullett. His debut record “Never Joy” is solid and boasts a few great songs like “Ribboned Blood”, “OD” and this “Thaw”. On first listen “Thaw” reminds me a lot of Bon Iver’s “Wash.” with that simple piano in the background, but the thing that makes “Thaw” so beautiful for me is Ed Tullett’s pure and even angelic voice and just when you think you’ve heard it all, the second voice comes in and just turns this song into a beautiful piece of music.

Everyone is a soul singer. It’s impossible to not be. But there seems to be varying degrees at which we allow the soul to shine through song. Someone who is expressing themselves as a soul singer at the deepest and widest level is the one who sings from a place of pure love and pure truth. They love all parts of themselves equally and this allows them to sing from a place of their truth, radiating out through song for others to feel and experience. ~ Roger Hanson
